How do you connect TradingView to TopstepX in 5 steps?

Before you start, you need Topstep's TopstepX API Access subscription ($29 per month, or $14.50 per month with Topstep's discount code). Topstep bills it separately from your Topstep subscription. You then generate the TopstepX API key that PickMyTrade uses.

   Subscribe to TopstepX API Access in your Topstep account. Topstep bills it separately from your Topstep subscription.

   Generate your TopstepX API key

   Create an API key in your Topstep dashboard. Keep it private; you paste it into PickMyTrade in the next step.

   Connect the account in PickMyTrade

   Add a ProjectX/TopstepX connection in PickMyTrade, paste in the API key, select your account and set your default risk controls.

   Create the TradingView alert

   Create a TradingView alert, replace the default message with the PickMyTrade alert message and set the PickMyTrade webhook URL under notifications. Webhook alerts need a TradingView Pro, Pro+ or Premium plan.

   Test, then go live

   Run the alert on a Trading Combine or demo account on a one-minute chart and confirm the order in the PickMyTrade alert log and in TopstepX. Run it from your own device, not a VPS.

What does a TradingView alert for TopstepX look like?

Paste a message like this into the TradingView alert message box. Generate your real message, with your own token, in PickMyTrade's Generate Alert section.

Fields such as tp / sl and dollar_tp / dollar_sl set your take profit and stop loss. This is an excerpt; the generator writes the exact message for your account.

How does a TradingView symbol map to a TopstepX contract?

Use a continuous symbol such as MNQ1! on your TradingView chart. PickMyTrade maps it to the current front-month contract on your broker and rolls to the next contract about four days before expiry. To trade a specific contract month, enter that exact symbol when you generate the alert.

The contract ID pattern follows ProjectX naming (root symbol, then a month and year code) and is shown for orientation; confirm the exact ID for your contract in the PickMyTrade alert log. If you see a "Contract Not Found" error, update the symbol mapping in PickMyTrade to the current front-month contract.
