Can you trade on TradeStation from TradingView? Yes, through a bridge. PickMyTrade receives your TradingView webhook alert and places the matching order on your live or paper TradeStation account across stocks, options, futures, and forex, with no coding. Webhook alerts need a paid TradingView plan, and PickMyTrade starts at $50 per month with a 7-day free trial.

What is not supported

  • Turning a raw TradingView webhook into a TradeStation order without a bridge such as PickMyTrade.
  • Webhook alerts on a free TradingView plan; a paid plan is required.
  • A guaranteed fill time: the 200ms is PickMyTrade's own processing, and broker execution and network latency come on top.

How do you automate TradeStation with a TradingView webhook, in 4 steps?

  1. 1

    Connect your TradeStation account.

    Create a PickMyTrade account and connect your TradeStation account, live or paper. Set your default risk controls, such as stop-loss, take-profit, and position size.

  2. 2

    Generate your webhook URL and alert message.

    In PickMyTrade, generate the webhook URL and the alert message for your buy, sell, and close signals. PickMyTrade writes the message for you, so there is no code to figure out.

  3. 3

    Format the alert in TradingView.

    In TradingView, open your strategy or indicator, create an alert, delete the default alert text, and paste the PickMyTrade message. Set the webhook URL in the alert's Notifications tab. Webhook alerts require a paid TradingView plan (Pro, Pro+, or Premium), because free TradingView accounts cannot send webhooks.

  4. 4

    Go live.

    Fire a test alert on a short timeframe, confirm the order in your PickMyTrade alert log and in TradeStation, then enable the alert. From here, every TradingView alert routes to TradeStation automatically.

What does a TradingView to TradeStation webhook look like?

You never write this by hand. PickMyTrade generates the webhook URL and the alert message for you; you copy them into the TradingView alert box. Here is what a simple buy alert looks like once PickMyTrade has built it for you:

Webhook URL (paste into the TradingView alert's Notifications tab):

https://pickmytrade.io/webhook/... (use the exact URL PickMyTrade shows for your account)

Alert message (paste into the TradingView alert's Message box, exactly as PickMyTrade generates it):

{
  "symbol": "AAPL",
  "action": "buy",
  "quantity": 10,
  "order_type": "market",
  "token": "your-pickmytrade-token"
}

That is the whole TradeStation webhook setup: a URL and a short message, both generated for you. Change "buy" to "sell" or "close" for your exit alerts, and set the symbol and quantity to match your strategy. The same pattern works for stock, options, and futures symbols on TradeStation. Because the message is plain text, you can read exactly what each alert will do before it ever reaches your account.

What can you automate on TradeStation?

PickMyTrade is built to do more than fire a single order. On TradeStation you can automate:

  • Market and limit orders, plus stop orders, straight from your TradingView alert.
  • Position sizing your way: a fixed quantity, or a size based on your own risk rules.
  • Stop-loss and take-profit attached automatically to every entry.
  • Multiple TradeStation accounts from one signal, so a single alert can place the same trade across each connected account at once.
  • Stocks, options, and futures, all through the same no-code alert flow.

This is what makes TradeStation automation practical for real strategies, not just demos. You set the rules once in PickMyTrade, and every TradingView alert follows them. If you also trade with prop or funded accounts, note that copy trading and automation rules vary by firm and change over time, so always confirm your firm's current policy before you go live.

TradeStation automation FAQ

Does TradeStation support webhook automation?

TradeStation does not turn a raw TradingView webhook into a trade on its own. PickMyTrade sits between them: it receives the TradingView webhook and connects to your TradeStation account to place the order for you. So the practical answer is yes, you can run webhook-driven automation on TradeStation through PickMyTrade.

Do you need to code to automate TradeStation?

No. PickMyTrade generates the webhook URL and the alert message for you, so there is nothing to program. You copy, paste, and trade. If you can create an alert in TradingView, you can automate TradeStation.

What is a Webhook URL, and where do I find it?

A Webhook URL is the connection point for TradingView to send alerts to PickMyTrade. You can find it in PickMyTrade after generating an alert.

What's the difference between an Indicator and a Strategy alert type?

Indicator: Triggers from specific chart conditions (manual/semi-automated use). Strategy: Triggers from a full Pine Script strategy with entry and exit automation.

How do the Buy, Sell, and Close alerts work?

Buy Alert: Opens or adds to a long position; closes any open short position first. Sell Alert: Opens or adds to a short position; closes any open long position first. Close Alert: Closes all open positions and cancels pending orders.

What are the different ways I can configure Stop Loss and Take Profit?

You can configure Stop Loss and Take Profit using Point/Dollar, Percentage, Price (using TradingView plot variables), Ticks, or Total Profit/Loss per contract.

How do I set the trade size (quantity) for my alerts?

Quantity: Fixed contracts/shares per trade. Risk Percentage: Auto-sized based on account balance and stop-loss distance.

What settings do I need to configure for options alerts?

Option type (Call/Put), strike price logic (ATM, ITM, OTM, Strike Away), and expiry date.

Can I practice with paper trading before going live?

Absolutely! PickMyTrade supports both paper trading practice accounts and live trading accounts on TradeStation. This gives you the confidence to test your automated trading strategies thoroughly before risking real capital. Simply connect your TradeStation account and choose between Sim (paper trading) or Live mode during setup.

Example

Fast & Accurate Execution

This example illustrates how precision and speed transform market prospects into actionable trades. The strategy buys NQ at 21,891, setting a stop loss at 21,841 and a take profit at 21,991, which is 100 points above. With 10 contracts, trade parameters are well defined, capping potential loss at $10,000 and profit at $20,000.

As soon as the alert goes off on TradingView, PickMyTrade processes the order in under 200ms on our side, keeping the gap between signal and market order as small as possible. Your total fill time also depends on your broker's execution and network latency. This level of automation provides consistent adherence to a trading plan without the need for a manual trader, even during periods of high volatility.
