Lucid Trading hedging, copier and bot rules, news trading, payouts, consistency, drawdown, live-account transition and account limits.

Lucid Trading Basics

What is Lucid Trading?
Lucid Trading is a proprietary trading firm that provides funded accounts to traders who pass an evaluation. You pay an evaluation fee, reach a profit target without breaking the drawdown rules, and move to a funded account where you keep a share of the profits. The Key facts table above lists Lucid Trading's current plans and payout terms.
Is Lucid Trading legit?
Always verify independently before purchasing. Check the firm's official documentation. Read the funded trader agreement carefully before paying any evaluation fee. Prop firm rules, fees, and payout policies change frequently.
Are Lucid Trading accounts real money or simulated?
Retail prop firm accounts, including those at Lucid Trading, typically run on simulated infrastructure that mirrors real market data. Payouts are funded from the firm's evaluation revenue rather than from live market profits. The Key facts table above shows how Lucid Trading's funded accounts are structured.
Is Lucid Trading regulated?
Prop firms generally operate as technology or contractor companies rather than regulated broker-dealers or FCMs, so they are typically not registered with the SEC, CFTC, FINRA, or FCA. The relationship is governed by the trader agreement, not by securities regulation. Read {name}'s agreement for its exact legal terms before paying.

Account Types

What evaluation models does Lucid Trading offer?
Lucid Trading offers evaluation programs in which you reach a profit target while staying inside drawdown limits. Each model differs in account size, target, and drawdown type. The Key facts table above shows which models Lucid Trading offers right now.
What is the difference between the evaluation and funded account at Lucid Trading?
The evaluation is the test phase where you must hit a profit target without breaching drawdown rules. The funded account is the phase you graduate into after passing, where you can request payouts based on your trading performance. Rules, drawdown types, and payout mechanics often differ between the two phases.
Does Lucid Trading offer instant funding?
Some prop firms sell instant funding alongside standard evaluations: you skip the profit-target phase, usually pay more, and often get stricter drawdown or payout terms. Whether Lucid Trading offers it is covered in the Key facts table above.
Can I run multiple funded accounts at Lucid Trading?
Running several funded accounts at once is common, often with a per-person cap. Firms usually restrict hedging between accounts and copying trades across them in ways that look like one position split up. The Key facts table above shows the account limit for Lucid Trading.

Plans & Pricing

What account sizes does Lucid Trading offer?
Prop firms sell evaluations in several account sizes, from small starter accounts to large ones, and the fee rises with size. Promotional discounts can change the price a lot. See the Key facts table above for Lucid Trading's sizes and fees and the date they were checked.
Does Lucid Trading charge monthly fees or one-time fees?
Evaluation pricing follows one of two models: a recurring monthly subscription until you pass, or a one-time fee per attempt. The model affects total cost if you need several attempts. The Key facts table above states which one Lucid Trading uses.
Does Lucid Trading offer discount codes?
Prop firms often run recurring promotions around holidays and product launches, usually through promo codes or newsletters. Codes change quickly, so a code from an aggregator may already be expired. Compare Lucid Trading's discounted price with the standard fee in the Key facts table above.

Profit Targets

What are the profit targets on Lucid Trading evaluations?
The profit target is the amount you must earn in an evaluation to pass, set as a percentage of the starting balance (commonly 6-10%). A bigger account means a bigger dollar target. Lucid Trading's targets per plan are in the Key facts table above.
Do profit targets exist on funded accounts at Lucid Trading?
Many prop firms drop the profit target once you are funded and focus on drawdown limits and payout eligibility, such as minimum profit and number of winning days. So the goal shifts from hitting a target to staying consistent. Lucid Trading's funded-phase terms are summarised above.
Does Lucid Trading evaluate on closing balance or floating equity?
Profit targets are usually measured on closed (realized) P&L, not floating equity, so you must close positions for gains to count toward the target. An open winning trade alone will not pass the evaluation. Confirm Lucid Trading's measurement basis in the Key facts table above.

Drawdowns: Trailing & Daily

What type of drawdown does Lucid Trading use?
A drawdown limit caps how much you can lose. The main types are trailing drawdown (the floor rises with your profits), static maximum drawdown (a fixed floor from the starting balance), and a daily loss limit. See the Key facts table above for Lucid Trading's type and amounts.
Does the drawdown at Lucid Trading apply to unrealized (floating) P&L?
Drawdown is measured either on equity (including open positions) or on balance (closed trades only). Intraday trailing drawdowns follow unrealized P&L tick by tick, while end-of-day drawdowns update only at session close. Which basis Lucid Trading uses is shown in the Key facts table above.
What happens when I breach the drawdown at Lucid Trading?
Breaching the drawdown limit normally liquidates open positions and closes the account. In an evaluation you must buy a new one or pay for a reset, if the firm offers resets. The Key facts table above notes Lucid Trading's breach consequences.
What is a daily loss limit (DLL) at Lucid Trading?
A daily loss limit (DLL) caps your loss within one trading day. Breaching it usually suspends trading until the next session instead of closing the account, though some firms treat it as a full breach. Lucid Trading's DLL amounts are in the Key facts table above.

Consistency Rule

Does Lucid Trading have a consistency rule?
Many prop firms enforce a consistency rule that limits how much of your total profit can come from a single trading day — typically expressed as a maximum percentage (e.g., 30–50%). This prevents traders from qualifying via one large lucky trade. Check whether Lucid Trading enforces this rule and the exact threshold.
Does violating the consistency rule fail my account at Lucid Trading?
Typically, violating the consistency rule blocks a payout request rather than failing the account. You would need to trade additional smaller-profit days to bring your best-day percentage back under the threshold before requesting a payout. Confirm Lucid Trading's exact policy.
Does the consistency rule reset after a payout at Lucid Trading?
The consistency clock usually resets after each approved payout, so the next payout cycle starts from zero and earlier big days no longer count against you. Whether this applies to Lucid Trading is stated in the Key facts table above.

Trading Days, Hours & Holidays

Does Lucid Trading require a minimum number of trading days?
Many prop firms require a minimum number of qualifying trading days before a payout. A qualifying day usually means you traded and made at least a set minimum profit that day. The exact count and threshold for Lucid Trading are in the Key facts table above.
Can I trade news events at Lucid Trading?
Some prop firms restrict trading around high-impact news such as NFP or FOMC, for example by blocking entries for a few minutes either side. Others allow it freely. The news-trading rule for Lucid Trading is listed in the Key facts table above.
Can I hold positions overnight at Lucid Trading?
Overnight rules differ by firm and account type. Futures-focused firms often require all positions flat before the daily close, while others allow swing trades held overnight or over weekends. Check the Key facts table above for Lucid Trading's policy.

Instruments & Markets

What instruments can I trade at Lucid Trading?
Prop firms offer different markets depending on focus: forex pairs, futures, indices, commodities, or a mix. Futures firms trade CME products like ES and NQ, while forex firms use MT4/MT5 symbols. Lucid Trading's tradable instruments are in the Key facts table above. Supported platforms:Tradovate, Rithmic.
What are the contract/lot size limits at Lucid Trading?
Prop firms cap position size to manage risk, usually as a maximum number of contracts (futures) or lots (forex), scaled to account size. Exceeding it can trigger a rule breach. See the Key facts table above for Lucid Trading's limits per account size.

Automation & EAs

Does Lucid Trading allow automated trading / EAs?
Algorithmic trading and Expert Advisors (EAs) are allowed at many prop firms, but strategies like HFT, latency arbitrage, and tick scalping are commonly restricted. The permitted scope is set in the trader agreement. Lucid Trading's automation stance is summarised in the Key facts table above.
Can I automate Lucid Trading with TradingView via PickMyTrade?
PickMyTrade bridges TradingView alerts to your broker account connected to Lucid Trading. When your TradingView strategy triggers, PickMyTrade receives the webhook and executes the trade on your broker within ~200ms — no coding required. Set up takes about 5 minutes. Try it free at app.pickmytrade.io.
Does Lucid Trading allow copy trading?
Copy trading rules differ. Many firms allow copying your own trades across your own accounts but ban copying from external sources or signal providers, and some ban it altogether. Confirm Lucid Trading's policy in the Key facts table above before setting up any copier.
How do I use PickMyTrade's trading time controls with Lucid Trading?
PickMyTrade's Trading Time Settings let you define sessions that automatically close all open positions and cancel orders when the session ends — keeping you flat before broker cutoffs. You can define multiple trading sessions, apply settings per account, and combine with news-aware controls. Full guide: docs.pickmytrade.trade.

What trading platforms does Lucid Trading support?
Lucid Trading supports one or more trading platforms depending on the asset class. Check their official site for the current list of supported platforms. Currently listed:Tradovate, Rithmic.
Can I use Lucid Trading on Mac?
Mac compatibility depends on which platforms Lucid Trading supports. Web-based platforms work on any OS. Native applications like NinjaTrader are Windows-only (Mac users typically use Parallels). Check whether Lucid Trading's supported platforms offer Mac-native clients or web alternatives.
Can I trade Lucid Trading on mobile?
Mobile availability depends on Lucid Trading's supported platforms. Many platforms (Tradovate, MetaTrader) have iOS and Android apps. Mobile is generally suitable for monitoring and emergency exits but most traders use desktop for active trading.

PickMyTrade Webhook Setup

How do I connect TradingView to Lucid Trading via PickMyTrade?
Setup takes about 5 minutes: (1) Create a PickMyTrade account at app.pickmytrade.io. (2) Connect your broker account (the one linked to your Lucid Trading evaluation or funded account). (3) Configure your strategy settings — instrument, order size, direction. (4) Click "Generate Alert" to get the JSON payload and webhook URL. (5) Paste both into your TradingView alert. Done — your TradingView signals will now fire trades on your Lucid Trading account within ~200ms.
How much does PMT cost on top of Lucid Trading fees?
$50/month per broker connection. PickMyTrade supports unlimited accounts under the same broker login with a single subscription. If you have accounts under different broker logins, each login requires its own subscription. There is a 7-day free trial, no card required — start at pickmytrade.io.
What TradingView plan do I need for PickMyTrade?
TradingView's webhook feature requires a paid plan — Essential ($12.95/month) or higher. The free TradingView plan does not support webhooks. Once you have a paid TradingView plan, webhooks are unlimited.
Does PickMyTrade require coding?
No coding required. PickMyTrade auto-generates the alert JSON for you. You paste the generated JSON and webhook URL into TradingView — no programming knowledge needed. PickMyTrade also supports custom JSON for advanced users who want fine-grained control.
How fast does PickMyTrade execute trades on Lucid Trading?
PickMyTrade processes webhooks and submits orders to your broker in approximately 200 milliseconds from when TradingView fires the alert. This is suitable for most strategy types. High-frequency or pure tick-scalping strategies should evaluate whether webhook latency is acceptable for their edge.

Payouts

What is the profit split at Lucid Trading?
The profit split is the percentage of funded-account profit you keep. Splits typically range from 70% to 100% and can rise with scaling tiers or payout count. Lucid Trading's split is shown in the Key facts table above.
How often can I request payouts at Lucid Trading?
Payout frequency depends on the firm: some allow on-demand withdrawals once you are eligible, others pay weekly, biweekly, or monthly, usually after a minimum profit threshold. See the Key facts table above for Lucid Trading's payout cadence and minimums.
How does Lucid Trading pay out — bank transfer or other methods?
Prop firms pay out through bank wire, ACH, PayPal, or platforms such as Deel, Rise, or Tipalti, and availability depends on your country. Processing times range from hours to several business days. Lucid Trading's supported methods are listed in the Key facts table above.
Is Lucid Trading income taxable?
Yes — prop firm payouts are generally taxable income in most jurisdictions. In the US, payouts are typically self-employment income reported on Schedule C, subject to income tax and self-employment tax. Consult a licensed tax professional familiar with trading income for guidance specific to your situation.
Does Lucid Trading scale funded accounts?
Scaling programs raise your funded balance after you show consistent profit, typically by hitting profit milestones within set drawdown rules. They can also change your profit split. The Key facts table above notes whether Lucid Trading offers scaling.

Lucid Trading: trader questions answered

At Lucid Trading, is it hedging if I go short MES and long MNQ, or long NQ and short gold?
Not if both positions are in the same account. Lucid's hedging page says you can go long and short different contracts in the same account, and even long minis against short micros of the same contract in one account. What it bans is opposing positions across accounts: the same contract in separate accounts, or correlated assets in separate accounts, such as long ES in one account and short NQ in another. Lucid groups correlated assets as equities, metals, energies and so on. Hedging between different users' accounts or different firms is also prohibited.
What happens if Lucid Trading flags my accounts for hedging, for example after a copier mistake?
When flagged, Lucid emails you and resets the associated accounts to the prior day's balance; after repeated offenses, all involved accounts are breached and you may be permanently restricted from Lucid's services. Lucid detects hedging with automated risk systems, and its hedging rule covers your own accounts, other users' accounts and accounts at other firms. Live accounts are stricter: Lucid says hedging live accounts is prohibited by both Lucid and the CME, including copier issues, and violations bring a permanent ban. Copier errors are your responsibility, so check that a copier cannot leave opposite positions open across accounts.
Does Lucid Trading allow bots, algos and trade copiers?
Yes. Lucid's Other Trading Activities page says automated trading systems and trade copiers are permitted, as long as all automated activity follows Lucid's rules, and you are fully responsible for software errors, malfunctions or unintended outcomes. Two rules matter most for bots. High-frequency trading is prohibited: a first offense brings a written warning, and repeats remove HFT profits and close accounts. Microscalping is flagged when more than 50% of profits come from trades held 5 seconds or less. Copiers also need hedge checks, because opposite positions across accounts are banned.
Can I trade CPI, FOMC or other red-folder news at Lucid Trading?
It depends on the plan. On LucidDaily, trading red folder news is a hard breach. On LucidFlex, LucidPro and LucidDirect you may enter or exit positions around scheduled or unscheduled news without it being a breach. Lucid warns that news can bring slippage and velocity logic triggers, and that traders assume full responsibility for all outcomes when trading during news. Lucid's page does not list which releases count as red folder, so confirm with support before holding a LucidDaily position into a release.
When can I request a payout on a LucidFlex funded account, and how much?
After 5 profitable days in the payout cycle plus positive net profit for the cycle. The minimum daily profit is $100, $150, $200 or $250 for 25K, 50K, 100K and 150K accounts, and those days reset after every approved payout. Each request is at least $500 and at most 50% of profit, capped at $1,000, $2,000, $2,500 or $3,000 by size. There is no buffer and no fixed payout window, the split is 90/10, and after 5 payouts the account is moved live. Approved payouts are disbursed within 2 business days.
Does Lucid Trading have a consistency rule?
It depends on the account. A LucidFlex evaluation needs a consistency percentage of 50% or less to upgrade, measured as largest single-day profit divided by account profit, with a small built-in cushion so you can pass in two days; LucidFlex funded accounts have no consistency rule. LucidPro funded accounts need 40% or less to request a payout, reset after each payout, or 35% for accounts bought or reset before 28 Nov 2025. Live accounts have no consistency requirement on any plan. Going over does not fail a Flex evaluation; you keep trading until your largest day is 50% or less.
Is Lucid Trading's drawdown end-of-day or intraday, and does hitting the daily loss limit blow the account?
LucidFlex and LucidPro use an end-of-day drawdown: the Max Loss Limit rises with your highest closing balance and locks at the starting balance plus $100 once you pass the Initial Trail Balance, for example $50,100 on a 50K. If your balance reaches the MLL, the account is breached. Daily Loss Limits are soft breaches: hitting one stops trading until the next session but does not cost you the account unless the MLL is also hit. The DLL is optional on LucidFlex and fixed on a LucidPro evaluation, for example $1,200 on a 50K.
When does Lucid Trading move me to a live account, and can I stay in sim?
Lucid's risk team decides. You enter the live review pool after your fifth and final payout on Flex, Pro or Direct, after a large lifetime payout total, after hitting the LucidDaily maximum daily profit, or for exceptional sim performance. Each funded account with at least one payout becomes a live account starting at $0, with daily payouts, end-of-day drawdown and no daily loss limit, and your other simulated accounts are closed. If you are not ready, Lucid offers a cashout equal to 50% of your live starting balance. After blowing a live account, the standard cooldown before buying a new evaluation is 2 weeks.
How many accounts can I have at Lucid Trading?
Up to 10 in total per household or family, across evaluations and funded accounts, with no more than 5 funded. Lucid's account limits page gives the example that holding 5 evaluations leaves room for 5 funded accounts, and different funded types share the cap, so 3 LucidDirect accounts leave room for 2 LucidPro funded accounts. You can keep 5 evaluations in reserve while holding 5 funded accounts and still trade them. LucidLive is capped at 5 per household, and once anyone in a household trades live, others there may not trade simulated accounts.
Can I trade full size from day one in a LucidFlex funded account?
No. The LucidFlex scaling plan ties your contract limit to simulated profit in the funded account and updates only at the end of each session. A 50K Flex funded account allows 2 minis or 20 micros below $1,000 profit, 3 minis from $1,000 and 4 minis from $2,000. Payouts lower your profit, so your tier can drop. The evaluation has no scaling plan, so there you get full size, 4 minis or 40 micros on a 50K. Intentionally getting around the limits can get your profit for the day wiped.
